Christmas Mantel Fireplace Decor with Burgundy Velvet, Greenery, and Gold

Burgundy velvet, layered greenery, and warm gold accents give this Christmas mantel a rich, traditional look.
A longer garland cascade on the left balances two ivory stockings on the right, while an arched mirror holds the arrangement together.
Here is how to recreate the look with the selected products, from the larger pieces to the finishing details.
Measure your mantel first, then build the layers in this order so the smaller accents stay easy to see.
1. Start with an ornate gold arched mirror

A gold mirror gives this Christmas mantel a clear focal point before the smaller decorations go up. The Kate and Laurel Arendahl mirror has an arched iron frame, an ornate crest, and an antique gold finish that ties in with the bells and candleholders.
The selected mirror measures 24 inches wide by 36 inches high. Center it above the fireplace, then check that there is enough room below the frame for the paper trees without hiding the decorative arch.
Mount it using hardware suited to your wall and the manufacturer’s instructions. A secure installation lets you build the greenery around the base without depending on the decorations to hold the mirror in place.
2. Build a full base with Norfolk pine garland

The Cherica set includes two 6-foot faux Norfolk pine garlands and battery-operated string lighting. Its soft, drooping branches create the loose outline that makes the display feel full without forming a rigid green strip.
Measure the mantel and the drop you want before deciding where to overlap the two pieces. Give the left side a longer cascade, with a shorter finish on the right to leave room for the stockings.
Fluff the branches before attaching the garland with supports appropriate for your mantel. Keep the overlap tucked into the fuller area near the bow so the greenery reads as one arrangement.
3. Fill thin spots with cedar stems

Juxdp’s 12-piece set of 18-inch artificial cedar branches adds a second foliage texture. The flatter sprays break up the Norfolk pine and help fill gaps around the mantel corners.
Open the branches gently after unpacking, then tuck the stem ends along the direction of the garland. Angle a few sprays outward near the bow and let others follow the left-hand cascade.
Use only the stems the arrangement needs. Keeping some spaces between the tips gives the berries and pinecones a place to sit without burying every detail in greenery.
4. Weave in small warm-white fairy lights

The selected EXF pack contains four separate 16-foot strands, each with 50 warm-white LEDs. Their fine wire can follow the branches closely, creating little points of light through the greenery.
The Cherica garland already includes lighting, so treat these strands as an optional extra layer where you want more glow. Work the wire from front to back instead of laying every light along the outer edge.
Each EXF strand needs three AA batteries, which are not included. Keep its battery case dry, accessible, and away from heat; the timer runs for six hours on and 18 hours off.
5. Repeat the burgundy color with velvet berry picks

LuckyEra’s burgundy velvet berry picks bring the bow’s color into the rest of the mantel. The selected pack contains 50 bendable 8-inch stems with a soft, matte berry finish.
Begin with a small cluster near the bow, then repeat the color in lighter groups across the garland. Point the berry branches in the same direction as the greenery rather than making a row of upright stems.
Leave some green space between the clusters so the burgundy remains an accent. A 50-piece pack gives you extras for a nearby wreath or tree without requiring every pick to fit on the mantel.
6. Tuck natural pinecones into the greenery

The Zugar Land pack contains 12 natural, unscented pinecones in the selected 2- to 3-inch size range. Their brown scales add a quieter texture beside the velvet berries and reflective gold accents.
Nestle them into the deeper pockets of greenery, alternating their angles. Put a few near the left cascade and repeat them across the top instead of spacing every cone at identical intervals.
Natural pinecones vary in shape and color. Secure loose pieces where needed so they cannot roll off the mantel when you reach for the lights or stockings.
7. Anchor the left side with a large velvet bow

The Zesua premade burgundy velvet bow supplies the strongest color in the arrangement. The selected bow measures 36 inches long by 18 inches wide, with broad shaped loops and long tails.
Place it where the horizontal garland turns into the left cascade. Let the tails fall over the greenery while keeping enough of the branches visible to connect the bow to the rest of the display.
Use the attachment straps on the back to secure it to an appropriate support. Gently open the loops after unpacking and let the plush surface catch the light without adding extra ribbon patterns.
8. Hang four antique-finish gold bells beneath the bow

The Suyeah bell cluster contains four metal cowbells with an antique brass-colored finish. Their rounded shape and textured surface add a heavier, rustic detail below the soft velvet bow.
Hang the cluster from its top loop on a secure support beneath the bow’s knot. Let the four bells fall at their existing staggered lengths, with the rope visible between the tails.
Keep the lowest bell within the outline of the greenery and clear of the firebox. The cluster is already a complete accent, so there is no need to add another bow or a second set of bells.
9. Add height with slender gold candleholders

NUPTIO’s gold-colored candleholders have slender stems, tulip-shaped cups, and round bases. Each set contains three holders in graduated heights: 5.9, 7.3, and 9.3 inches.
To recreate the six-holder arrangement, use two sets and place one trio on each side of the mirror. Keep the bases on a flat, stable part of the mantel rather than balanced on the garland.
Candles are not included. The white spiral tapers shown are separate styling props; leave them unlit around the greenery and paper trees, or choose properly fitting flameless alternatives.
10. Layer green and ivory honeycomb paper trees

The SUNBEAUTY six-piece set combines four green trees and two ivory trees, each with a small gold ball on top. Folded honeycomb paper gives the tiered silhouettes their fine, repeating texture.
The two listed heights are 11.8 and 8.5 inches. Open each tree fully and close its magnetic seam, then arrange the taller trees behind the shorter ones without lining up all the tops.
Keep the ivory trees separated so their lighter color repeats across the mantel. Position the trees on the ledge behind the greenery, with enough space around their bases to preserve their folded shape.
11. Place gold mercury-glass votives between the trees

Volens gold mercury-glass votives add a softer glow at the base of the display. The selected set contains 12 holders, each approximately 2.67 inches tall with a 2.17-inch top diameter.
Use three across the mantel, leaving the remaining holders for another surface. Place them in small openings between the trees so the speckled glass is visible rather than hidden behind a thick branch.
Candles are not included. Battery-operated LED tealights suit this arrangement beside paper and faux greenery, and let the glass catch the light without an exposed flame.
12. Use gold rope-textured clips for the stockings

Haute Decor’s MantleClip Chic holders repeat the gold finish in a small, useful detail. The selected four-pack has a rope-textured design and curved ends that fit over the mantel edge.
Use two clips at the right side for this look, checking the fit before hanging the stockings. The manufacturer lists compatibility with mantel edges up to 3.5 inches thick; measure your own ledge first.
Keep the clips visible enough to check that they are seated properly. Set the other two aside rather than crowding the mantel with extra stockings just to use the whole pack.
13. Finish with two ivory cable-knit stockings

Fesciory’s two-pack of ivory cable-knit stockings softens the right side of the fireplace. The acrylic knit has raised cables and a folded ribbed cuff that stand out against the stone surround.
The listing describes the stockings as 18 inches long. Hang the pair together from the gold clips, leaving a small gap so the knit pattern and curved toes remain visible.
Empty stockings keep the finished arrangement simple; any decorative fillers shown in listing photos are separate styling accessories. Before using the fireplace, remove hanging decorations and follow the appliance’s required clearances.
Once everything is in place, switch on the fairy lights and LED tealights and check the mantel from across the room. A little space around the mirror, trees, and candleholders helps each texture stand out.
