How to Create a Cozy Entryway Nook with Mirrors and a Curved Bench

An empty entryway wall can become a beautiful little spot to sit, slip off your shoes, or enjoy a quiet coffee.

Start with sculptural mirrors and a curved cream bench. Then add greenery and a few soft layers to bring the whole corner together.

1. Arrange Three Organic Mirrors

Use three asymmetrical mirrors to create an eye-catching arrangement above the bench. Try different orientations on the floor before marking their positions on the wall.

Keep a little breathing room between the frames. Center the overall arrangement above the bench, rather than centering each mirror separately.

The WallBeyond asymmetrical mirror measures 25 inches tall by 20 inches wide and has a dark brown wood frame. It is sold individually, so you will need three for this arrangement.

Follow the supplied mounting instructions when choosing its orientation.

2. Add Greenery Beside the Seating Area

Place a leafy plant beside one end of the bench to soften the wall and balance the mirror arrangement.

The Nearly Natural Real Touch Dracaena measures 48 inches tall and comes in a small nursery pot.

Gently shape its bendable stems and leaves to give the foliage a fuller, more natural appearance.

3. Give the Plant a Rounded Planter

A rounded concrete planter adds texture and gives the greenery a more finished look. Place the plant’s nursery pot inside and keep it level and stable.

This Kante concrete planter measures 21.7 inches tall and 15.9 inches wide.

Measure your corner first so the planter fits comfortably beside the bench without crowding the walkway.

4. Bring in a Curved Cream Bench

Position the bench beneath the mirrors, leaving enough space for doors to open and people to walk past comfortably.

The Modway Nimbus curved bench has a curved silhouette and textured cream chenille upholstery. Its rounded shape brings a softer feel to an entryway with straight walls and doorways.

It measures 47.9 inches wide, 24.4 inches deep, and 16.7 inches tall, and arrives fully assembled.

5. Style One End with a Textured Pillow

Lean one plump pillow against the wall at the end nearest the plant. Keeping the pillow to one side leaves the bench’s curved shape visible.

These MIULEE beige chenille pillow covers have a textured, grid-like weave.

The set includes two 18-by-18-inch covers; pillow inserts are sold separately.

6. Drape a Fringed Throw over the Seat

Drape the throw beside the pillow and let its fringe fall over the front edge. Keep the folds relaxed and leave part of the seat uncovered.

The DII Double Diamond fringed throw is woven from cotton and measures 50 by 60 inches.

Its stone color and geometric pattern add a gentle contrast to the cream bench.

7. Finish with a Few Personal Touches

Add a small stack of books you already own, or leave your current read open beside the pillow. Keep enough room to sit comfortably.

Step back and check the balance between the mirrors, plant, and seating. A few thoughtful pieces are all this entryway needs to feel welcoming.
